The NFU Ring (Near Field Communication) has just been launched and oh my, the possibilities are endless. Not only can you link NFU enabled mobiles and tablets with it, but it’s open source, which means developers can create their own applications for it.

My first thought (obviously) was marketing and communications but when I showed the video to my husband who works in social care and he immediately recognised the potential of how vulnerable people (those with dementia or learning disabilities) could store vital information for the services to access during an emergency. It just shows the varied applications this little beauty could be used for.
